As former collegiate athletes, they intimately understood how sports instilled invaluable life skills like discipline, teamwork, and an unshakable sense of confidence in their youth. Recognizing the transformative power of athletics beyond physical exercise, their driving vision was to provide that same empowering experience to the underserved Muslim youth of Portland.

Through catalytic local programs, Crescent Sports International™ and Crescent Sports Media™ proved instrumental in propelling basketball talents like Damon and Salim Stoudamire to stardom at the University of Arizona and ultimately the NBA. Yet their impact reverberated far beyond the court, as Shabazz took it upon himself to spotlight trailblazing Muslim professional athletes like Hakeem Olajuwon. This allowed innumerable young dreamers to see themselves represented at the highest echelons of their aspirations.
